America's Next Top Model Shakedown: "The Show Needs a New Boost"

The America's Next Top Model bigwig dropped a massive shocker last week when she announced that she was firing three of the show's mainstays—Nigel Barker, Jay Manuel and J. Alexander—who also happen to be her close chums. Many took the move as a firm bid to gussy up the show and juice up sagging ratings, and now Banks is speaking out about the shakedown and what it means for her and her axed costars...

Banks is definitely big on the family thing: Shortly after news broke of the firings, she tweeted: "Fierce & love 2 my Nigel, Jay & Miss J. ANTM turned us in2 a family. Excited for what the future holds for us."

The April 11 event will serve as the final day of searching for the cast of the 13th cycle of the hit, Tyra Banks-led reality contest. According to a release from the network, the series is still seeking woman 5'7" or shorter, ages 18-27. Ladies looking to strut their stuff should check cwtv.com later this week for location details.
The mid-March auditions came to a grinding halt when a broken down BMW spewing smoke stopped in front of the masses of people waiting outside a Central Park hotel. Several people shouted that a bomb had gone off and, coupled with a fight further down the line, chaos erupted, resulting in a massive stampede and at least six people injured. Three people were arrested as well.
